Registrations must be postmarked by Monday, March 15, 2010. If your registration is postmarked by February 28, you qualify for the early registration discount. Fees include workshop, materials, snacks, Friday dinner, continental breakfast, and Saturday luncheon. Speakers will have books available for purchase. If you want one manuscript evaluated by Editor Jane Friedman, send 10 pages max of double-spaced prose (No poetry, plays, scripts, inspirational, or children’s/young adult literature), plus a one page cover letter either summarizing the work, with $25 to the address below. The total number of manuscripts accepted for critiquing will be limited to the first 20 submitted. Registration and evaluation fees must accompany any manuscript submission. Manuscripts must be postmarked by February 28.

Workshop Speakers Christopher Branch is a singer/songwriter/guitarist, born and raised in the Foothills of South Carolina. He has extensive NPR and college radio airplay. He has released several studio albums as a solo artist and as the front man for the band, Cedars Of Lebanon. His songs have been covered by many regional artists. Christopher has served as the music minister for several churches. His knack for mixing introspective and playful lyrics with a percussive guitar style, and a bluesy-gruff voice has gained him many fans around the Southeast. He will be releasing his third solo album, "And If All These Things Are True", in 2010. Jane Friedman is the publisher and editorial director of the Writer’s Digest brand community in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she oversees Writer’s Digest magazine, Writer’s Digest books, and the Writer’s Market series. Writer’s Digest is the world’s # 1 resource and community for writers, and for 90 years has published the best-selling annual reference guide, Writer’s Market. She is the author of Beginning Writer’s Answer Book and maintains a blog on the industry as part of the Writer’s Digest community, There Are No Rules (blog.writersdigest.com/norules). Jill Jones is a writer, clinical social worker, and poetry therapist, currently residing in Edie Melson has 15 years experience as a freelance writer, speaker and mentor for women in difficult life experiences. She began her career as a technical writer for Leisure Arts, Inc. Her byline has appeared in several national magazines and top websites including Focus On the Family, Crosswalk.com, Inspiredmoms.com and Christiandevotions.us. Her mystery novel, Dead Ringer, and her non-fiction book, Taking Captive Every Thought, each won first place at the Blue Ridge Christian Writer’s Conference. She, along with fellow writer Vonda Skelton, started a local writer’s group, The Christian Writer’s Den, and have co-directed and taught a writer’s retreat since 2002. She serves as the conference columnist for the ACFW Southeast Zone newsletter, as Managing Editor at Centered Magazine, an online publication and as a spec fiction reviewer for Marcher Lord Press. Richard Speight is the author of two mystery novels, Desperate Justice and Triple Jeopardy. Desperate Justice became a Sunday Night Movie on ABC-TV and Triple Jeopardy was read on National Public Radio and was translated into five languages. Abingdon Press published four volumes of his short stories and essays. Richard graduated from Pam Zollman is the author of Don’t Bug Me, a middle grade novel which was nominated for
